Frequently Asked Questions

Frontier Family Eye Care office is currently still under construction.  Please join our mailing list to receive more details regarding our grand opening date; slated for later this summer. We hope to see you soon!

Many vision screenings test only for distance visual acuity. While the ability to see clearly in the distance is important, it does not give any indication of how well the eyes focus up close, or work together. It also does not give any information about the health of the eyes.

Even if a child or adult passes a vision screening, they shouldn't assume that they don't have an eye health or vision problem.

Comprehensive eye and vision exams are the only effective way to confirm or rule out the presence of any eye disease or vision problem.

A glasses examination is meant to check your eyes and provide a prescription that can be taken to an optical, who will have glasses made for your eyes specifically.  A contact lens examination requires additional testing, beyond the glasses examination.  It utilizes special equipment to test and measure the eye in order to properly fit contact lenses that will also be comfortable.  Furthermore, for a contact lens examination, we do a follow up appointment to ensure the lenses are fitting well and that there are no adverse effects.

Children should have their first eye exam before starting school or earlier if you or your pediatrician notice eye problems. Early detection is key for healthy visual development.

No, a damaged or torn lens can harm the eye, and in some cases cause an infection.  It is best to replace the damaged lens as soon as you can, something we can help you with.

Frontier Family Eye Care will  be credential with a broad range of local and national vision and medical insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid..

Yes (once we have our grand opening), though we also take scheduled appointments which ensures less wait time.
